TRIM-HILTED SWORD HILTS for rent

("what kind of blade do I need?") blade choices

Do you need only the sword, or some way to attach it to the actor as well? Once you're done selecting the hilt and blade, take a look at our  leather goods  rental section which has sashes, belts, frogs and scabbards

Most hilts can be fitted with almost any blade, but the grip and pommel will change to fit the tang - prices are for the first 30 days rental per sword when outfitted with the corresponding blade.

502 - CAPTAIN MORGAN - believe it or not, this is similar to what the Olympians use to compete in the sabre division. It’s come a long way from the cavalry sabre, and is several pounds lighter. When fitted with an epee blade this is what Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone used in "The Mark of Zorro"

epee or demi-epee – [$13.39]    schlaeger – [$25.70]

104- FIORE d’ITALIA - based on an Italian practice foil of the 1820’s, our version is strong, light, responsive and classy.    epee or demi-epee – [$11.48]    schlaeger – [$22.78]    vorpal – [$28.52]

103 - GEORGIAN - typical practice foil among military and civilian sporting types of the 19th century. Figure-8 style guard    epee or demi-epee – [$17.68]

152 - PIRULO - this style is used in the bullring, and is a good basic sword in its own right.

costume – [$12.70]    epee or demi-epee – [$16.00]    schlaeger – [$27.30]    vorpal – [$33.04]    poniard – [$15.39]    wide dagger blade – [$15.65]

206 - GERMANIC - artistic flair on short quillons. Careful though; four fingers have a hard time getting inside the knuckle bow. Also makes a fine fancy "espada toreadora" for Carmen. Manganese- bronze.

costume – [$18.53]    epee or demi-epee – [$22.53]    schlaeger – [$36.21]    poniard – [$21.79]

204 - EARLY VENETIAN - simple, clean look with expansive lines. All steel.

costume – [$10.96]    epee or demi-epee – [$14.26]    schlaeger – [$25.57]    vorpal – [$31.30]

    200- RENAISSANCE - manganese-bronze guard with a rustic air.

costume – [$17.26]     epee or demi-epee – [$21.26]    schlaeger – [$34.95]    vorpal – [$41.89]    poniard – [$20.53]    wide dagger blade – [$20.84]

201- HEAVY ITALIAN - excellent look for early renaissance plays.

costume – [$19.58]    epee or demi-epee – [$23.58]     schlaeger – [$37.26]    vorpal – [$44.21]    poniard – [$22.84]    wide dagger blade – [$23.16]

207 - FLORENTINE - this light guard provides protection to the overlapping finger, and yet still makes a beautiful costume piece. Works well as rapier, smallsword, or court sword

costume – [$18.95]    epee or demi-epee – [$22.95]    schlaeger – [$37.05]    vorpal – [$43.58]    poniard – [$22.21]    wide dagger blade – [$22.53]

208- VENETO - This style was ordered by the Armoury of the Council of Ten in Venice circa 1470, it is an excellent choice for Othello, Romeo & Juliet, etc. All steel for great strength.

costume – [$18.43]    epee or demi-epee – [$21.74]    schlaeger – [$33.04]    vorpal – [$38.78]    poniard – [$21.13]    wide dagger blade – [$21.39]

209 - GRANADA - another lightened broadsword style, this one is typical of the Spanish preference for guards drooping towards the point of the sword to better protect the hand.

costume – [$19.00]    epee or demi-epee – [$22.17]    schlaeger – [$34.43]    vorpal – [$38.50]    poniard – [$21.58]    wide dagger blade – [$21.83]
