Fencing Masks

These modern style fencing masks are not meant to be a substitute for correct stage combat technique. Indeed, stage combat should not be learned while wearing a fencing mask: that usually leads to bad habits. Get the fight memorized first, then add the protective gear.

These are used items, so almost all have some make-up stains on the inside. But they are three-weapon masks and structurally sound. (The different Olympic fencing disciplines of foil, epee, and sabre have different equipment standards. "Three-weapon" masks meet or exceed the requirements for all three sports.) And, yes, these are sales prices, lower than any others, anywhere.

Y43-A - ADULT SMALL NEGRINI FENCING MASKS – black mesh. although marked small, these are adult sized, not children's masks. Take a straight-line (drop) measurement from chin to top of head. If 10 inches or less, these will fit fine.  These are nearly new (only used for one summer's fencing camp), and the best price you will ever find for these top quality Negrini 3-weapon style with full padding, that normally sell for $165.  $ 54   [two in stock]

Y43-B - LEON PAUL FENCING MASKS – steel mesh. These are superb masks of superior design. Vision and hearing are only minimally hindered compared to other masks. The only drawback is with the band behind the head. They lost their elasticity very quickly, and a new piece of elastic should be sewn in as a replacement.  $ 68   [five left]

Y43-C - TRIPLETTE COMPETITION ARMS FENCING MASKS – black mesh. These are well-built, and in excellent shape .  $ 48   [two in stock]

Y43-D - MANGOLD FENCING MASK – black mesh. I don't know anything about this German company. The masks seem sturdy enough, but they are a little dirtier than the others, and the nylon trim around the neck protection is cracking.  $ 35   [three available]

Y43-E -  UNKNOWN FENCING MASK – This one is still in good structural shape, but is cosmetically challenged. The mesh had at some point been painted white, the neck protection is rather short, and the nylon covering of the tongue (the part that presses against the back of your head) is shredding and needs to be recovered. But where else can you get a fencing mask at this price!?!  $ 19   [only one]

FYI on fencing masks in general: the metal "tongue" - the part that presses against the back of your head to hold the mask in place - is only attached to the mask at one rivet point. When fitting the mask to your head, adjustment to the tongue shape must be made at the bend, never at the rivet.
